The Tamil Nadu government has announced that new government arts and science colleges will be started in 10 places across Tamil Nadu.
In the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Budget Meeting series, there is a discussion on subsidy request by each department. Today (Aug. 26) there was a discussion on the demand for subsidy by Higher Education and School Education Department.
The announcement published on behalf of the Higher Education Department:
′′ The budget has been announced to provide balanced higher education to all parts of Tamil Nadu, to increase student enrollment ratio and to start 10 new government arts and science colleges. Accordingly new colleges will be started in the following locations.
Virudhunagar District - Thiruchuzhi,
Kallakurichi District - Thirukoilur,
Erode District - Thalavadi,
Dindigul District - Ottanchathiram,
Tirunelveli District - Manur,
Tirupur District - Tharapuram,
Dharmapuri District - Ariyur,
Pudukottai District - Alangudi,
Vellore District - Adogad
And science colleges and new Govt Women's Arts and Science College will be inaugurated in
Thiruvarur District - Koothanallur '.
